KHARTOUM – Egypt's Border Guard Commander Maj. Gen. Ahmed Ibrahim arrived in Khartoum Monday for a several days' visit to Sudan.
"The visit aims to discuss deployment of joint forces on borders between the two countries," Sudanese army spokesman Sawarmi Khaled Saad told Al-Shorouk satellite channel.
He said that the Egyptian commander will meet with Sudanese army commanders during the visit.
Egyptian authorities have yet to comment on Ibrahim's visit to Sudan.
Sudanese Defense Minister Lt. General Abdel Rahim Mohamed had visited Egypt in February for talks with Defense Minister Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi.
Following the visit, Abdel Rahim said that the Egyptian Border Guards Commander would visit Khartoum to discuss the deployment of a joint force on borders to fight human trafficking.
