Spanish tenor Jose Carreras to perform in Istanbul

ISTANBUL - Spain’s well-known tenor Jose Carreras will perform at Zorlu Center for Performing Arts in Istanbul on March 29.

"Turkey is a beautiful and growing country," Carreras told the press at Ataturk Airport in Istanbul. "I am sure Turkey will grow economically in the future too," he added.

The 68-year-old tenor will be performing together with conductor David Gimenez and Turkish soprano Simge Buyukedes.

Carreras became well known for a wider audience as one of The Three Tenors along with Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti in a series of concerts held between 1990 and 2003.
