Syrian interim government has announced that it decided to donate US$500,000 to rebel fighters.
DAMASCUS - The Syrian interim government has announced that it has decided to donate US$500,000 to rebel fighters.
The announcement came after the so-called interim government’s regular meeting. The interim government, formed by opposition umbrella group, the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary, said it will donate US$100,000 to a hospital in Azez at the northern Syrian city of Aleppo. It also announced it will form a commission in order to develop a joint project with the European Union, the U.S. and some Gulf countries in rebel-controlled areas.
The interim government was formed on 19 March 2013. That government also participated in talks in Geneva in January to end the three-year civil war, but the talks produced no tangible result.
