Back to the 1970s for England's World Cup kit

ANKARA - The official launch of England's football kits for the 2014 FIFA World Cup have taken place with team captain Steven Gerrard, goalkeeper Joe Hart, Wayne Rooney, Jack Wilshere and Daniel Sturridge modelling the new looks.

White dominates the home kit while the away kit features a red jersey, but both still retain the famous three lions and now also feature the St. George cross on the back of the neck.

Nike who make England's kit have also collaborated with typographer Neville Brody to create a new font for the names and numbers on the back of these jerseys.

There is a distinct 1970s look to the kit and Nike have said they referenced the all-white kit England wore in Mexico in 1970.
