Country's passenger number increased 17 percent, to more than 31 million
ANKARA – The number of passengers making domestic flights in Turkey grew 17.7 percent in March compared to the same month a year ago, while the number making international flights grew 5.7 percent, the General Directorate of the State Airports Authority announced Saturday.
The total number of domestic passengers for the month was 6,554,735. The number of international passengers reached 4,449,027, the authority said.
The number of domestic flights increased 12.6 percent, to more than 57,000. The number of international flights grew 9.4 percent to more than 36,000. Turkish airports served 117,526 planes in March 2014, including the number of over-flights,
The amount of air cargo in March increased 13.4 percent to more than 200,000 tons.
