KABUL, Afghanistan - Afghan forces have killed fourteen Taliban militants and injured nine in army operations across the country since Friday, the Afghan Interior Ministry says.
A further six Taliban fighters were captured and a large number of weapons and explosives were seized, according to the ministry.
However, Taliban spokesperson, Zabiullah Mujahid, denied the ministry figures, saying a large number of Afghan and foreign troops were killed in the operations.
The 24-hour operations reportedly occurred in the provinces of Paktia, Kandahar, Logar and Ghazni.
Meanwhile, Taliban members have carried out two separate bomb attacks against the Afghan police in the eastern province of Khost, killing two police officers and injuring 5 others.
