Ukraine's Defence Minister visits eastern regions

KIEV, Ukraine – Ukraine's Acting Defense Minister Mikhail Koval left for the eastern region of Ukraine, where municipal buildings are being occupied by pro-Russian demonstrators.
In a statement in Kiev on Wednesday, Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Vitaliy Yarema said, "Defense Minister Koval has left for the eastern region, where an anti-terrorism operation is underway. Minister Koval will observe the situation on site.”
Meanwhile, pro-Russian armed militias continue to occupy the Donetsk governor's building. Routine daily work continues at the Municipal Building, despite being overrun by pro-Russian armed militias in the early morning hours of Wednesday. Donetsk's municipal assembly convened despite pro-Russian armed militias occupying the building.
On Tuesday, Ukraine’s interim President Oleksandr Turchynov announced the start of the operational phase of an "anti-terror" campaign in the country’s east.
