BAGHDAD – Nine Iraqis were killed and 47 others injured in three attacks in the capital Baghdad on Wednesday, a security source said.
Six civilians were killed and 20 others injured when a booby-trapped car exploded in northern Baghdad, the source told Anadolu Agency.
Another vehicle exploded in Al-Sadr city in eastern Baghdad, killing three people and injuring 22 others, the source said.
Five more people were injured when two mortar shells hit southern Baghdad, the source said.
There has been no claim of responsibility for the attacks.
Wednesday's attacks came two weeks before the country's legislative elections on April 30.
Iraq has seen a spike in violence recently, with recurrent bombings and assassinations killing hundreds of people.
Most attacks go unclaimed, but authorities usually point the finger at Al-Qaeda-linked militants.
