MADRID -  Spain's Atletico Madrid, who are advancing to a historic victory in Spanish La Liga this season, are ready to take on their opponents Chelsea in UEFA Champions League semi-final stage.

Two regulars of "Atleti", and Spanish central-midfielder Gabi stated that all team members believe that they can qualify for the final in Europe's most prestigious club level tournament.

Brazilian attacking midfielder Diego said "there's no odds-on favourite in the semis," and  added that Chelsea are very powerful and play so quickly, but he believes that "Atleti" will advance to the final.

Diego's teammate Gabriel Fernandez, known affectionately as "Gabi" in Spain, said that it's time to make history. 30-year-old captain of Atletico Madrid noted that "as a club we may have the least budget but we are more passionate than the others" referring to the fact that Atleti have the smallest budget among their opponent teams in the Champions League semi-final phase.

Additionally, Fernandez paid tribute to one of the most talented and integral players of the team, the 27-year-old Turkish star, Arda Turan and also praised the fans, "Our fans are the igniting force of the team, it seems like they play with us on the pitch."
