Football: Domestic league title race in Europe

ISTANBUL - Four teams in European leagues are within touching distance of claiming their championships this weekend.

In Turkey, the Spor Toto Super League leaders Fenerbahce are close to clinching their 19th league title, as they are 12 points ahead of their closest rivals Besiktas with four games to spare. A draw against Caykur Rizespor will be enough for the Yellow Canaries to be the champions of the 2013-14 season. If Besiktas cannot manage a win at Sivasspor, Fenerbahce will be champions regardless of its own game's result.

In France, the title holders Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are counting the days for their fourth title in the club's history. PSG, which secured 82 points in France's 'Ligue 1,' will play against Sochaux on matchday 35. Even a draw will be enough for the Parisian giaints to claim the title, as they are 10 points ahead of their closest follower, Monaco.

In the Dutch top division - the 'Eredivisie', league leaders Ajax are waiting for their 33rd championship. The Amsterdam team managed to collect 69 points in 32 weeks, six points ahead of the second place holder Feyenoord. With two games left to play, even a draw against Heracles will guarantee Ajax's title.

Italian Serie A's leaders Juventus are also close to their back-to-back title. The "Juve," which will play against Portugal's Benfica in UEFA Europa League semi finals, have collected 90 points in 34 league matches in Italy. Runners-up Roma are 8 points behind Juventus with four games to spare. Roma will host AC Milan this weekend and if they draw or lose against the Milanese club in Rome, a possible victory of Juventus against Sassuolo will give the team an Italian Serie A title for the third time in a row.
