FAYOUM, Egypt – A female supporter of ousted president Mohamed Morsi was killed Friday when security forces dispersed a pro-democracy rally in central Egypt, a source in Morsi's main support bloc said.
Reda Ramadan died when security forces used teargas and buckshot to disperse pro-democracy supporters in Al-Bandar town in Fayoum province, the source in the National Alliance for the Defense of Legitimacy said.
The claim was no confirmed by Egyptian authorities or medical sources.
Supporters of the ousted president staged several rallies on Friday as part of week-long demonstrations called by the National Alliance to protest Egypt's worsening living conditions.
Egypt has been dogged by instability since the army unseated Morsi, the country's first freely elected leader, last July following massive protests against his presidency.
Pro-democracy protesters have staged almost daily rallies ever since to demand his reinstatement.
