Volume of loans from Turkey's banking sector increases by 596 million Turkish lira in one week, says Turkey's Central Bank
ANKARA - Turkey's banks loaned a total of 1.048 trillion Turkish lira ($490 billion) in the week ending April 18, Turkey's Central Bank said in its weekly bulletin Friday.
The credit volume stood at 1.0482 trillion Turkish lira on April 11, meaning the volume of credit lent by Turkish banks increased by 596 million Turkish lira ($279 million) in one week.
The overall credit volume, excluding financial or inter-bank loans, totaled 1.028 trillion Turkish lira ($480.8 billion).
