Lions' Uruguayan goalkeeper Fernando Muslera faces knee injury examination
ISTANBUL - Galatasaray's Uruguayan star Fernando Muslera undergoes a magnetic resonance imaging test on Monday to determine the extent of his knee injury suffered during the Turkish league match played against Elazigspor on Sunday.
The 27-year-old Uruguayan international was subbed out in the 65th minute of play due to a hyper-extended knee injury in his left leg and his state of health will be clarified by the medical checks, according to a statement on Galatasaray's official website.
Transferred from Italian team Lazio in the summer of 2011, Muslera was out of action for a month after suffering a toe injury in November.
In the last months of 2013, the British press rumored that one of the leading teams in the English Premier League, Manchester City, were interested in buying the star of the Istanbulite giants.
