AMMAN – Turkish Economy Minister Nihat Zeybecki said Tuesday that his country is ready to help develop Jordan's Aqaba province.

Aqaba is an excellent area for investments and boasts a 9-month tourist season, Zeybecki told a conference on Turkish investments in the province.

Zeybecki expected more Turkish investments in the province, citing a 2009 agreement to build Turkish free trade zone in Aqaba.

Jordanian Industry, Trade and Supply Minister Hatem Halawani, for his part, called for building Turkish resorts in Aqaba and Dead Sea areas.

"We have also agreed to take more steps to boost trade cooperation," he added.
