Estonian cyclist wins third lap in 50th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey
ANTALYA - Estonian racing cyclist Rein Taaramae won the third lap of 50th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey on Tuesday.
Taaramae, who races for French team Cofidis, completed the 185-kilometer-long track between the Finike and Elmali provinces of southern region Antalya.
Taaramae sprinted to the finish in the last 300 meters of the lap of the Tour of Turkey, with his time at 5 hours 40 minutes 31 seconds. He was followed by British cyclist Adam Yates from Australian team Orica GreenEDGE and his Cofidis team-mate, French cyclist Hardy Romain.
British cyclist Simon Yates, also from Orica GreenEDGE, was hospitalized when he broke his collarbone and up to six cyclists crashed when they were rounding a corner in the last 28 kilometers of the lap; all were able to continue.
The Tour continues Wednesday with a 132-kilometer-long fourth lap to be held between the Fethiye and Marmaris provinces.
