PARIS – France’s President Francois Hollande warned Russia that dialogue is the only way out of the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, where elections are set to be held on May 25.
Hollande spoke on Monday at a joint press conference with Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who is on an official visit to the France's capital Paris.
Hollande said it is necessary for Ukraine to hold elections and that all parties should respect the results.
Abe blamed Russia for inciting tension in Ukraine and said it is important for the elections to be completed successfully.
Ukraine’s interim Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and members of the government delegation will meet with members of the European Commission on May 13 in Brussels. Implementing economic reforms and necessary aid to Ukraine will be determined during the meeting.
