AMMAN – Jordanian King Abdullah II on Monday described his country's relations with Iraq as "brotherly."

At a meeting with Masoud Barzani, president of the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) in northern Iraq, King Abdullah said that Amman supported efforts aimed at bolstering Iraq's stability and security.

Barzani has just begun a visit to Jordan that will last for several days, according to a statement by the Royal Hashemite Court.

The court noted that Abdullah and Barzani had discussed regional developments and bilateral cooperation.

Relations between Jordan and the KRG have improved in recent years, particularly in the field of investment.

The two sides have signed several memorandums of understanding in the fields of health, population, communications and agriculture.
