KHARTOUM – Two Iranian warships docked in Sudan on Monday, a Sudanese army spokesman said.
Sawarmi Khaled Saad said that the Iranian warships, one of them a navy supply ship, had arrived in Port Sudan for refueling and information exchange.
According to the spokesman, the two warships will remain in Sudan for three days before set sail.
Naval vessels from Iran have periodically stopped in Port Sudan for what Khartoum described as normal visits.
In 2012, an Iranian vessel docked in Port Sudan, sparking speculations about a military alliance between Tehran and Khartoum.
