The Treasury’s cash revenues were TRY27.2 billion, while its expenditures were TRY36.6 billion in April

ANKARA - The Turkish Treasury on Thursday has posted a cash balance deficit of 9.3 billion Turkish liras ($4.49 billion) in April.

According to provisional cash balance figures, the Treasury’s cash revenues were TRY27.2 billion (US$13.14 billion), while its expenditures, including interest payments were TRY36.6 billion (US$17.68 billion).

The deficit came after an interest payment of TRY3.4 billion (US$1.64 billion), the treasury said.

The figures mean the treasury’s cash revenues were TRY126.6 billion and its non-interest expenditures TRY125.9 billion in the first four months of this year, while interest expenses stood at TRY16.4 billion for the same period.
