Magnitude 5 earthquake hits southern Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – A magnitude 5 earthquake struck southern Pakistan's Nawabshah district killing one and injuring 70 on Friday, according to officials.
Pakistan's geological department confirmed the magnitude, which was preliminarily set at 4.3, and said the earthquake's epicentre was 27 kilometers from Nawabshah and had a depth of 10 kilometers.
Jamal Mustafa Qazi, deputy commissioner of Nawabshah told reporters the earthquake jolted the city early in the morning, sending people to the streets.
Several mud and wooden houses have been partially or completey damaged in and around the town, but there have been no immediate reports of any major casualtis or building collapse.
