ISTANBUL – Foreign investors injected more than US$1.3 billion into Turkey's stock exchange between February and April 2014, according to figures released by the Borsa Istanbul stock exchange Friday.
Turkey's sole stock exchange market saw its index increase 19.42 percent and capital inflow reach US$443 billion over three months.
The banking sector index, a sub-section of the Borsa Istanbul which sees heavy foreign investment, outpaced the main index with a 27.8 percent increase.
Foreign investors had started 2014 cautiously with sales limited to US$500 million in January due to geo-political risks and domestic political turmoil.
