Rocket fired from Syria hits building on Turkish-Syrian border, however, there are no reported injuries
HATAY – A rocket projectile fell on the Yayladagi customs gate Tuesday at the Turkish Syrian border in the southern Turkish province of Hatay.
According to the evaluation of security forces the rocket projectile was fired from Syria hitting the vehicle inspection building.
Nobody was reported injured in the incident, but there was material damage on the building and a more thorough investigation is being carried out.
Incidents like this are not unusual in Turkey's provinces along the 800km Syrian border.
Syria is gripped by a deadly civil war, which has claimed more than 100,000 lives according to the last tally by the UN. However, the organization has now stopped updating tally after an official count became too difficult to ascertain.
