Turkey’s national flag carrier sees it passenger numbers dramatically increase for the first four months of 2014
ANKARA – Turkish Airlines passenger numbers rose 19.3 percent to 16.6 million in the first four months of this year, the company announced Tuesday.
In a statement the airline said that in the period January to April domestic route passenger numbers rose by 25.8 percent and by 15 percent on international routes. This increase in passenger numbers was partly due to the airline increasing its domestic routes by 36 to 43 and its international routes by 186 to 204.
Turkish Airlines is aiming to become the preferred European air carrier with a global network of coverage thanks to its strict compliance with flight safety, reliability, product line, service quality and competitiveness, whilst maintaining its identity as the flag carrier of the Republic of Turkey in the civil air transportation industry.
The airline hopes to achieve five stars in quality by 2023, the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey.
