Miami Heat reach East Conference final while San Antonio Spurs climb to West Conference final
ANKARA - In the National Basketball Association playoffs, Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs each climbed to the final stage in the Eastern and Western Conferences.
In the Eastern Conference, Miami Heat toppled Brooklyn Nets 96-94 in the fifth match and won the semi-final series 4-1 to qualify for the Eastern Conference finals.
'Heat' defeated 'Nets' thanks to the remarkable performances of U.S. stars, LeBron James scoring 29 points and grabbing 9 rebounds, Dwayne Wade scoring 28 points, Chris Bosh completing the game with 16 points and Ray Allen with 13 points.
Miami Heat who qualified for the finals will meet the winners of the game between Washington Wizards and Indian Pacers.
In the Western Conference, San Antonio Spurs eased past Portland Trail Blazers 104-82 to win the semi-final series 4-1 allowing them to advance to the Western Conference finals.
In Spurs, Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green each scored 22 points making them the top scorers of the clash. However, the efforts of LaMarcus Aldridge for Blazers scoring 21 points and taking 10 rebounds and Damian Lillard completing the showdown with 17 points and 10 assists, were not enough to win the game.
Spurs will meet the winners of the Oklahoma City Thunder-Los Angeles Clippers series to play in the Western Conference finals.
Two games will be played on May 16.
