Turkey's Foreign Ministry has condemned Saturday's clashes between Mali's army and a force belonging to the National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad

ANKARA – Turkey’s Foreign Ministry has condemned recent clashes between Mali’s army and Tuareg rebels, which has left 36 people dead and 87 injured.

The ministry also sent its condolences to those affected by the outbreak of violence and offered its support in protecting the constitutional and political stability of Mali.

Clashes erupted Saturday ahead of a visit by the new Malian Prime Minister Moussa Mara to the town of Kidal.

Mali's Tuareg rebels also executed three local officials in the northern city of Kidal following these clashes on Sunday.
