Turkey´s Koc offers $664 million for Istanbul´s Marina

ANKARA - Turkey´s biggest industrial group Koc Holding has offered Turkey's Privatization Authority $664 million for Istanbul's Kalamis Marina, the largest marina in the country on Friday.
Istanbul’s 435,000-square-meter Fenerbahce-Kalamis Marina, was already operated for 15 years by Tek-Art, which was owned by Koc Holding.
Turkey’s Privatization Administration had received seven bids from local firms in the tender for the right to operate the marina, which boasts 1,400 berths for yachts of up to 60 meters in length, for the next 30 years.
“We will make some investments to attract more international visitors to Istanbul,” said Tamer Hasimoglu, Koç Holding ´s President for Tourism, Food and Retailing Group.
Koc holding’s Setur operates nine marinas in Turkey. The group also owns another on the Greek island of Mytilini.
The group owns home appliance company Arcelik and oil refinery Tupras. It also has joint ventures in vehicle production with Italy´s Fiat and US´s Ford Motor.
