MAZAR-I SHARIF, Afghanistan - President Barack Obama arrived in Afghanistan late Sunday for an unannounced visit to mark Memorial Day with U.S. troops in the country.
Obama landed at Bagram Airfield outside capital Kabul for the first time since a visit in 2012.
The president met commanders of U.S. and international forces in the country to receive a battlefield update and discuss the civilian and military resources.
Obama is not expected to meet with Afghan officials during his visit.
