KABUL, Afghanistan – At least two Afghan National Army staff members have been killed and nine more wounded in a suicide attack in Afghanistan's capital Kabul on Monday, officials said.
“A suicide bomber who was riding a motorcycle has attacked the staff bus of Afghan National Army,” Ministry of Defense Afghanistan said in a statement.
The statement said the attack happened at around 3:15 pm when the staff bus was taking employees home.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
The suicide attack follows a secret visit by U.S. President Barack Obama last night. He visited Bagram Air Base, where U.S. forces are stationed, but did not go to Kabul to meet the Afghan President Hamid Karzai.
