VIENNA - The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe announced that they have lost contact on Monday with four of their observers who were serving in Donetsk, east of Ukraine.

The incident took place following the seizure of Donetsk airport, in which 35 pro-Russian separatists were killed.

The organization said in a written statement that communication was lost with four observers, among them a Turkish citizen, on Monday at 18:00.

Contact was lost while the group was on a routine mission in Donetsk, the statement said, and efforts to reach the group continue, it added.

The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe began a mission in Ukraine on 21 March, with 200 observers.
