ISTANBUL - A man's corpse has been found in Gezi Park following weekend demonstrations on the first anniversary of Gezi protests in Istanbul on Monday.
Police revealed the dead person's identity as Tugrul Turnalı, 27 and it is still unclear how he died.
His body was found lying on the ground in one of the side streets leading to Gezi Park since Sunday night.

The original Gezi Park protests began as a small environmental demonstration on May 31, 2013, and turned into nationwide anti-government demonstrations. The protests erupted after the government moved to implement a redevelopment plan for nearby Taksim Square which reportedly included replacing part of Gezi Park with a shopping mall.
Gezi Park was closed by the police during weekend.
