ANKARA - Turkey has condemned Monday's twin suicide bombing in Iraq at a security checkpoint near the offices of two political parties in the predominantly Turkmen-populated town of Tuz Khormato.
"We have learned with great sadness that at least 30 people including Turkmens were killed and more than 100 people were injured following bomb attacks in the town of Tuz Khormato in Saladin province," Turkey's foreign ministry said in a written statement on Monday.
The first blast occured when an explosive-laden truck driven by a suicide bomber hit a security checkpoint leading to a political party office, followed by a second attack when a parked truck bomb was detonated reportedly by remote controllers near the scene of the first explosion.
The double bombing has left 32 people dead and more than 110 people injured, according to an AA correspondent.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
