GAZA CITY – A Palestinian on Tuesday succumbed to injuries sustained during an Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip, according to a Health Ministry spokesman.
"The Palestinian man died of wounds he sustained when Israeli shelled his home in the southern city of Rafah," ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qodra told Anadolu Agency.
The latest fatality brings to 1944 the total number of Palestinians killed by devastating attacks by Israel on the Gaza Strip since July 7.
At least 9886 Palestinians have also been injured over the same period.
According to al-Qodra, the fatalities have included 467 children, 243 women and 87 elderly people.
Israel and Gaza-based Palestinian factions are currently observing a three-day truce that started on Monday to coincide with indirect talks in Cairo aimed at hammering out a permanent ceasefire.
