ANKARA - Turkey has condemned the execution of 14 Yemeni soldiers by al-Qaeda.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said: "We wish these kinds of attacks that target the well-being and prosperity of Yemen to end." The ministry also reiterated Turkey's support to "brotherly" people of Yemen.
On Saturday militants from al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula stopped a military bus in Hadhramaut province and executed the soldiers on board, the group admitted.
Yemen has seen a rise in violence since the ousting of President Ali Abdullah Saleh in 2012. On Wednesday eight people were killed and 17 injured when a bomb went off in Lahij province.
